Overzenia Garden went to be with Jesus on Sunday April 7th 2019. It was fitting it was on the seventh day she said it is finished I have kept the faith and finished her course.
Overzenia was born November 23, 1926 the second daughter born to Maude and Jessie Green. She was born in Harwood Texas. She was one six kids survived at this time by her oldest sister Juanita Cunningham and will meet in heaven brothers Beau Green and Carter Ray Green and sisters Henrietta Roberts and Jessie Ann Canada. They were raised on a large farm helping her father with his crop of watermelons. She attended school in Harwood till she finished. Soon after completing school she soon met her first husband and married Ed Allen. After marriage the bore three beautiful children Edna Marie Allen, Loretta Neal and Eddie Lee Allen ( in heaven). She later met Buster B. Robinson and through their union they were blessed with five beautiful
Children Gloria Gwedolyn Hutson, Victoria Lynn Jacquett, Susie Mae Williams, William Buster Robinson and Overzenia Ojuri. The last love of her life William “Bill” Garden who also preceded her in death was her last husband. She lived a full and rich life. She was known for her beautiful smile. She worked for some years at Cliff’s Restaurant and serving family as domestic help. She helped to care for and raise many children on in Roswell. She was always active in her community and a devoted Christian. It was not uncommon to see her at someone’s home helping to care for them.
In her services to the Lord she served first at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church as an usher under Pastor King. She then an active member and leader at Apostolic House of Prayer where she also served as the “mother” of the church. She worked closely with her Pastor Emmanuel Norfor and First Lady Barbara Norfor. We know she will meet Emmanuel Norfor when she enters the gates of Glory to meet Jesus. She loved God with all her heart. She was also a member of New Birth Ministries serving with Pastors Mike and Lorraine Branch. Known to be talker who never met a stranger. We learned to love from our mother. She was always a source of great support for her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Her laughter and wonderful cooking skills will be missed deeply.
