Hagerman’s future to be topic of conference

Business and government leaders from Hagerman and Chaves County will hold a daylong conference Saturday to discuss the future of the town.

The free event sponsored by the Hagerman Forward community organization and the Hagerman Hogwash community newspaper will occur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lindrell Andrews Community Center, 501 E. Argyle St. Free child care will be provided during the conference.

A block party until 7 p.m. organized by the Neighborhood Watch group will follow, with hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the Hagerman Lions Club.

The conference is slated to include discussions by journalists, Hagerman Mayor Tony Garcia, Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corp. President John Mulcahy and area business owners and civic organization leaders.
