A man reported missing by a representative at a homeless shelter where he had been staying, contacted Roswell Police Wednesday evening to let them know he was safe and was never actually missing.
Shawn Talbert, 33, called police and made contact with an RPD officer at about 6 p.m. at a convenience store in the 2000 block of South Sunset Avenue, after he saw himself on Facebook listed as missing, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Police Department and the city of Roswell.
“He said he was fine and appeared to be fine,” Wildermuth said in an email Thursday.
Talbert told the officer that he had been staying at the homeless shelter in the 400 block of East Bland Street, but had decided to go and instead stay with a friend, according to Wildermuth.
Talbert was reported missing earlier in the week after he had not been seen or heard from by anyone since March 28, even though he had left his belongings at the shelter.
