Roony was born on September 30, 1981, in Roswell, NM, to Rosalinda Tavarez. In the short 37 years Roony was with us, he left a legacy worth talking about. After graduating from Roswell High School in 1999, he enlisted in the US National Guard. Roony could always make a friend anywhere he went. The great stories people have about him would take a lifetime to tell. His hobbies included working in the film industry, glass blowing – in which he tremendously excelled, going to concerts, reading, bartending and attending as many festivals as he could.

The best day of his life was on March 17, 2010, when his only daughter, Ixchell Garza, was born. They were the true definition of “two peas in a pod!” She was his life and he was hers. There is not enough time or words to fully describe the outstanding person Roony was. His memory is etched into the hearts of every person he came across and he will be immensely missed.
