Letter writer impressed by concern for toddlers

(Recently) I was the substitute teacher at University High School where I was assisting with the babies and toddlers. Many of the little ones’ parents are students at this school.

I want the general public to know that I was very impressed with the loving care that these little ones receive daily from the very dedicated and committed permanent caregivers and the long term substitute teachers. These children have very attractive, colorful and spotless surroundings with a great variety of educational toys, etc.

However, what impressed me most was the loving gentleness, patience and concern that I observed. Not only are the children’s physical needs and safety a priority, but the toddlers are being taught respect for each other, how to share and proper manners, etc. I was quite amazed at how these little toddlers are becoming very self-efficient at such an early age.

These caregivers put in very busy, and sometimes, exhausting days. I take my hat off to them. I would like more of the community to know about this program and the wonderful ladies who are responsible for its success.
