Nyah Becerra, a Goddard High Student, studies some of the work she and fellow digital media art students produced this year as she attends the opening day of the Student Art Show that will run until May 10 at the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. Her photo is an extreme close-up on black athletic shoes. For the fifth year, the Roswell Independent School District has organized the exhibit of high school and middle school students’ art, with Goddard, Roswell High, Sidney Gutierrez Middle School, Berrendo Middle School and Sierra Middle School participating. Entries include complex origami art, wire sculptures, videos, paper sculptures, paintings and drawings. “It is really special for students to have their work shown in a museum, especially one of this caliber,” said Jessica Parham, Roswell High School art teacher. “It also benefits the public to see what we are doing for projects at local schools.” (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
