Grappler truck service behind schedule

Vehicle issues have resulted in alley grappler service running at least three weeks behind schedule, according to a city of Roswell press release.

Two grappler trucks have been out of service since March and one grappler is being called upon to collect full 300-gallon alley containers — which two older, side-loading trucks are now unable to mechanically lift and empty.

When the Sanitation Department gets its full complement of grappler trucks up and running and the mechanical issue with the older side-loaders is resolved, the regular bulk alley collection schedule for the grapplers will resume as soon as possible, according to the press release.

Citizens can call the Sanitation Department at 575-624-6746 with questions. The department thanks the public for its understanding and cooperation.
