ENMU-Roswell will hold its third annual Aviation Camp June 3-5. The camp is designed for high school students entering 9th-12th grades who will learn to fly a real airplane.

The paid camp will offer a variety of activities designed to help students explore careers and opportunities available in aviation. In addition to flying a plane with a certified flight instructor, students will learn about drones, visit maintenance operations, tour the control tower at the Roswell Airport, work on an airplane project, see a hot air balloon demonstration and hear from civilian, commercial and military aviation experts.

At the end of the camp, participants will be awarded a certificate and a pilot’s log book.

To register or for more information, including cost, contact Jenna Secrist, transportation controller/dispatcher, at 575-624-7159 or email jenna.secrist@roswell.enmu.edu.

Camp hours are Monday, noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to noon. Space is limited to 20 participants, so students need to complete an application by noon on Friday, May 17.
