Isidro González, a former teacher, shows fourth-grade students from Monterrey Elementary School how to grind corn for tortillas with a traditional mano and metate, a grindstone, in the Museum Archives Center at the Historical Society of Southeast New Mexico at 208 N. Lea Ave. on Monday morning. In addition, local fourth-grade students will have an opportunity this week to tour the museum, make apple juice and butter and learn about various household appliances and tools used in the 1900s.
