Amber alert issued for Roswell girl

UPDATE: A post on the Roswell Facebook page shortly after midnight Tuesday stated that the Amber Alert  issued for Magdalena Morales, 15, was canceled at 11:35 p.m, and that she had been located and is safe.

An Amber alert has been issued by Roswell Police and New Mexico State Police for a missing female teenager in Roswell.

The Alert was issued at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Magdalena Morales, 15, was last seen Monday afternoon at Goddard High School, but did not return home this afternoon, according to a press release from State Police.

After police were contacted, a thorough investigation regarding her whereabouts began, but many details are still unknown and remain under investigation.

Morales is described in the release as Hispanic, five feet six inches tall and 110 lbs with long brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and a tourquise backpack. She also has a tongue piercing, according to the release.

The whereabouts of Morales are described as “an urgent concern” in the release.
