A Roswell teenager who was the subject of an Amber Alert Monday night was found safe.

Magdalena Morales, 15, was found at about 11:35 p.m. Monday, soon after the alert was issued by New Mexico State Police, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the Roswell Police Department.

“She was unharmed and returned to her family,” Wildermuth said Tuesday.

Morales was reported missing when she did not come home after school Monday and had last been seen earlier in the day at Goddard High School.

Police later determined, after they found her, that Morales had not been in danger and had simply gone off on her own after school. Morales was found by police officers who were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle at North Atkinson Avenue and East College Boulevard.
