SERVICES: A Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Friday, May 10, 2019, 10:00 AM, with interment immediately following at South Park Cemetery. A reception will follow burial at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the San Juan building.
Romelia was born in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel and Susana Garcia on May 22, 1934. She married Fidenico R. Gomez on May 23, 1953, and together they raised six children: Sylvia, Ruben, Leticia, Susan, Raul, Maria, and two adopted children, Fidenico Jr. and Veronica.
A loving Esposa, Madre, Abuelita, Bisabuela, Amiga, and Modela A Suguir, Romelia, enjoyed attending Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church every Sunday, cooking, dancing, shopping, and going to the casino. She loved always looking her best by getting her hair and nails done regularly. She was an adamant fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Dallas Cowboys, but most of all Romelia had an enormous influence on her family’s heritage. She was the heartbeat of her family and she has left behind a lasting legacy of irreplaceable Mexican traditions that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will cherish always.
