Students ‘kid’ around with school leaders

Mountain View Middle School National Junior Honor Society members combined some motivation of fellow students with some ribbing of teachers and school leaders. For the group’s community project this year, the chapter’s inaugural year, its 58 members decided to give canned food to St. Peter’s food pantry. To encourage donations, each food item given equaled a vote on which teacher or administrator would kiss a goat. The drive brought in 500 food items in a week. Those who won the vote were science teacher Lilia Ackerman, left; Assistant Principal Leslea Tivis, center; and social studies teacher Angelica Aldana. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
