Reverend wants stolen equipment returned

A local reverend is asking for the public’s help in finding a large amount of electronic equipment that he discovered had been stolen from a trailer Friday morning.

Rev. Jim Ridgeway, known for holding the God Inspired Gathering on the lawn of the Chaves County Courthouse two Friday’s a month, said all the equipment he uses to put on the gathering has been stolen.

Roughly, the items taken include a public address system, two large outdoor speakers and speaker stands, microphones, microphone stands and a generator, all with a combined value of about $4,000, he said.

Ridgeway said the equipment was stored in a trailer that he kept in a backyard at the 200 block of East College Street Tuesday.

He said that he discovered the items were missing Friday when he went out to the backyard to do some yard work when he noticed a cord sticking out of the trailer.

“And I said, ‘Oh no, this is not going to be good,’ “ Ridgeway said.

He added that he filed a report with the police, but said he encourages whoever stole his equipment to return it.
