The Lovington Fire Department donated two battery-powered cots to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education Program at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell.

The cots are used extensively in the field and will replace the manual lift models that the ENMU-R program has traditionally relied on for training.

Lovington Emergency Medical Services Director Carl Christensen delivered the cots to ENMU-R.

“Lovington Fire Department is happy to be able to assist the Roswell EMS program to better meet the current training trends of southeastern New Mexico for their delivery of EMS education,” he said.

“These cots will better assist us in our ability to deliver realistic scenarios with current equipment used by providers in the field,” said ENMU-R EMS Program Director Jesse Davis. “Reconditioned cots of this style come at a cost of around $9,000 each, which is not an easy purchase for an educational program.”
