Annual Milkman Triathlon held in Dexter

The 35th Annual Milkman Triathlon was held June 1 at Lake Van in Dexter.

Triathletes, who ranged in age from 13 to 82, were greeted by nearly perfect weather, according to tournament organizers.

Bobby Gonzales, 59, from El Paso, Texas won the overall male title for the seventh time.

One of the fastest-ever relays was turned in by Clovis athletes — 56:46.2 minutes.

A new female champion was crowned — Alissa Pajer of Albuquerque.

The Peyge Spirit Award was presented to the family of the late Judge Alvin Jones, commemorating Jones’ many contributions to fun and fitness at the triathlon.

Top 10 finishers in the men’s division were: 1st, Gonzales; 2nd, Jeffrey Boyd; 3rd, Gage Boonestro; 4th, Roberto Quintero; 5th, Robert Browning; 6th, Jon Brown; 7th, Daniel Peregrino; 8th, Blade Allen (Roswell); 9th, Jeffrey Hill; and 10th, Nicolaus Juarez.

Top 10 finishers in the women’s division were: 1st, Pajer; 2nd, Ashley Donaldson; 3rd, Nina Harrell; 4th, Tori Bushnell; 5th Shannon Zanelli; 6th Jennifer Snead; 7th Mary Kathryn Foucar; 8th Rocio Aguirre; 9th Osiris Ortiz; and 10th, Sandra McDonald.
