Country music star Billy Ray Cyrus is coming to Roswell, and the City of Roswell is offering people a chance to meet him in person, according to a city of Roswell press release.
The city’s Billy Ray Cyrus Meet and Greet Ticket Giveaway is under way in conjunction with the Roswell Sertoma Club’s Mike Satterfield Memorial Fourth of July Extravaganza.
Cyrus will headline the musical entertainment during the Independence Day event at Cielo Grande Recreation Area. He will perform in concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free to the public.
Contest entries are being accepted exclusively online through Instagram. Entrants must be following @Roswell_nmgovt to be eligible to win.
There are two ways to enter: 1. Take a picture in your best Billy Ray look and post it using the hashtag #BillyRayCyrusRoswell. 2. Visit the Roswell Visitors Center (426 N. Main St.) or the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico (200 N. Lea Ave.), snap a picture with the sign and post it using the hashtag #BillyRayCyrusRoswell. (If you post a picture with one of the city’s signs, you will be entered in the contest twice.)
Posts must be made by June 30 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entrants must be 18 or older to win. Entries are valid only through Instagram. The winner will be randomly selected and announced July 1.
The winner will receive two tickets, allowing for him or her to bring one guest to the Meet and Greet, which will take place July 4 at Cielo Grande Recreation Area. The Meet and Greet will be at 6:30 p.m., shortly before Cyrus takes the stage.
The limited number of tickets for the Meet and Greet cannot be purchased. In addition to the city’s ticket giveaway, public tickets will also be given away by three local radio stations.
