Donations for the two Roswell firefighters injured June 5 are at $77,188 and climbing. Jeff Stroble and Robert “Hoby” Bonham remain in Lubbock recovering from injuries sustained while working with Fourth of July fireworks. Saturday fundraisers were part of the effort to provide assistance to them and their families. The First Annual Hellfire Ride, which took off from Fire Station 1 on South Richardson Avenue at noon, brought in hundreds of bikers from several states. Organized by the Roswell Chamber of Commerce, the Hellfire chapter of the Smoke and Iron Firefighters bikers club and the Law Tigers motorcycle group, the ride traveled to several fire stations in town before heading to the Alien Motor Speedway on South Atkinson Avenue for an afternoon of raffles, auctions, food and events. The amount raised was not known as of press time. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
