PAUL LESLIE SORENSEN, 73, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, in El Paso, Texas. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with the Sorensen family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, 10:00 AM. Gene De Los Santos will be officiating.

On February 4, 1946, Paul was born to Leslie N. and Lorena R. Sorensen in Roswell, New Mexico. He was the beloved husband of Edith Hunnicutt Sorensen, whom he married on August 21, 1965, in Roswell, New Mexico. Paul was extremely family oriented and loved taking care of his wife and children. His most memorable moments were the times he spent with his wife and children. Paul’s favorite pastime was making beautiful memories with his family and friends.

Prior to retirement, Paul worked as Chief of the Roswell Fire Department and as a Director of the Pecos Trail Transit. He was a member of the Roswell Gun Club and devout fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Paul was passionate about the outdoors and loved nature. Throughout his life, some of the things he enjoyed were fishing, shooting, hunting, woodworking, motorcycle, and dirt bike riding. Paul was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

SURVIVORS: Those left to treasure and cherish memories of Paul are: his loving wife, Edith M. Sorensen; sons: Michael P. Sorensen and wife Mindy M., Stephen T. Sorensen and wife Abby; grandchildren: Paul S.P. Sorensen and wife Taylor, Wade G. Sorensen, Peyton J. Sorensen, Barrett Graham and girlfriend Megan, Tanner Graham and KC; great-grandchildren: Knox, Cayson, Callie Jo, and one great-grandson on the way, Baby “B,” who is due on Aug 24, 2019; nephew, Thomas Ray Standifer Jr. and wife Jessica; great-nephew and niece: Jacob and Megan Standifer; close friends of the Roswell Fire Department: Bob and LeAnne Parson, Gene De Los Santos, Homer Trujillo, Anna Aragon, and Alexis Aragon.

PRECEDED: Preceding Paul in death: his parents, Leslie N. and Lorena R. Sorensen; sister, Sharon Lea (Sorensen) Winsted.

PALLBEARERS: Honored to serve as Pallbearers are the Roswell Fire Department, and the Honor Guard.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul’s honor to the Roswell Fireman Fund at Pioneer Bank.
