SERVICES: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM.
On October 13, 1979, Rebecca was born to Joe M. Jr. and Dolores Garcia Sanchez in Roswell, New Mexico. She graduated with honors from Christian Central Life High School in May, 1997. Rebecca realized her true calling of becoming an Occupational Therapist Assistant when her mother suffered a hip injury. She then decided to attend classes at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, where she graduated and received her certification in Occupation Therapy on May 10, 2001. She was a former manager at TCBY from 1997-2000, as well as a guest services at Target from 2001- present.
A devoted Catholic member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Rebecca was a loyal Christian who served the Lord through every aspect of her life. She loved to spend quality time with her mom, dad, and brother. Rebecca looked forward to Karaoke night with her cousins and family. She adored babies and children, especially her cousins, Izzy and Khloe. She just loved being around her family for gatherings and celebrations.
Rebecca loved her Starbucks coffee, watching the New York Yankees Baseball Games, and Texas Tech football. She was very talented and had a great passion for drawing. Rebecca was a skilled artist who enjoyed sketching her family members as cartoon characters, animals, sceneries, and portraits. She enjoyed going out to eat her with her family; Chinese food was her favorite.
Going to the Zoo and collecting Peacock feathers were some of the many things Rebecca liked doing. She loved the outdoors and all animals, especially her constant loving dog companion, Maggie, precious cat, Harley; and adorable bird, Coco.
SURVIVORS: Rebecca is survived in the family home by her father, Joe M. Sanchez, Jr.; brother, Joe M. Sanchez III; lovable pets: Maggie, Harley, Coco; and numerous aunts, uncles, and friends.
PRECEDED: Preceding Rebecca in death: her mother, Dolores Garcia Sanchez; paternal grandparents: Joe Sanchez and Maria Nuñez Tapia; maternal grandparents: Miguel M. Garcia and Arcelia M. Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family wishes to acknowledge and give a special “Thank You” Texas Tech University Medical Center, to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, aids, and minister for all the loving tenderness and concern they showed for Rebecca. And “Thank You” to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center-Roswell nurses and doctors for helping Rebecca through her dialysis.
