Susana Fresquez, left, and Joanne Silva participate in the Farmers’ Market for their first year with their “Accents from the Garden” booth of flowers and plants from local growers. The 2019 Farmers’ Market season started on Saturday on the Chaves County Courthouse lawn on North Main Street with about 16 vendors selling hand-crafted items and fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, food, meat and flowers. The activity is coordinated each year by MainStreet Roswell and is scheduled to occur 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Saturday until Oct. 5. (Lisa Dunlap Photo)
