A young girl from Chaves County who had been reported as a runaway late last week has since been found in Texas.

Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Police Department, said Tuesday that Kaitlyn McDaniel, 15, was reported to Roswell Police as a runaway by her parents July 12.

McDaniel was then found the next day in Pampa, Texas.

Wildermuth said that police in Pampa must have located her there and then told her parents.

Dustin Miller, community service director with the Pampa Police Department, confirmed McDaniel was found by police there and was unharmed.
