Woman dead in Friday night homicide

Roswell Police have ruled the Friday night death of a woman a homicide.

Jennifer Morro, 40, was found dead at the 2100 block of West Second Street at about 11 p.m., according to information provided by the Roswell Police Department Saturday.

Juanita Jennings, public affairs director with the city of Roswell, said Saturday night that Roswell Police say Morrow was transported to a local hospital where she passed away.

The death has been ruled a homicide by the Roswell Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit, the information states.

Mike Herrington, Chaves County sheriff, said Saturday that Chaves County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers with the Roswell Police Department were called to the scene in response to a call of shots fired in the area where the victim was found.
