LIFELONG ROSWELL RESIDENT

A lifelong resident of Roswell and Ruidoso, LOLA LUJAN, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the age of 96, in Ruidoso, NM. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Lola’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Monday, August 5, 2019, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 6: 00 PM. Mass will be at St. Peter Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 10:00 AM. Burial and reception will follow.

Lola was born on September 30, 1922, in Ancho, NM, and lived in Chaves County most of her adult life. She worked very hard all her life as a loving mother and wife. She married Rumaldo “Gabby” Lujan on October 7, 1945, in Roswell, NM, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1985. Lola loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going out shopping and a visit to the casino.

PRECEDED: As well as her husband preceding Lola in death, she was also preceded by her son, Rumaldo Lujan, Jr.; parents, Eutilia Benavidez Lucero Nunez and Alejo Nunez; sister, Mary Jane Nunez; son-in-law, Jimmie Rue (husband of daughter Tillie Rue); brother-in-laws: Martin, Max, Henry, and Alego Lujan; sister-in-law, Mary Lujan; and lifelong friend, Lola Gomez.

SURVIVORS: Lola is survived by her loving family: daughter, Carmen Lujan, grandchild, Dora Lujan (Angela Fernandez), and great-grandchildren: Anthony (Candace) Nickles, and Chantel Purcella; son, Raymond (Helen) Lujan, grandchildren: Martin Gallegos, Raymond (Cat) Lujan II, and great-grandchildren: Louie Lujan and Julian Arthur; daughter, Tillie Rue; son, Richard (Sylvia) Lujan, grandchildren: Rosalinda (Gabriel) Solis, Lorena (Marty) Vigil, and Richard (Jessica) Lujan Jr, great-grandchildren: Amber (Javier) Chaves, Luis (Alondra) Chavira, Miguel (Jadine) Chavira, Santana Vigil, Marty Vigil, Jr., and great-great-grandchildren: Jayden, Analeigh, and Janelle Chaves, Sophia Chavira, and Emri and Emmy De La Cerda; son, Andrew Lujan, grandchildren: Victoria Montoya, Andrea Lujan (Robert Aguilar), and great-grandchildren: Kevin and Josh Jackson, Alyssa and Noah Aguilar; two brothers: Clotario Nunez and Mike (Angie) Nunez, both of Tucson, AZ; along with nephews/nieces: Pete Nunez, Nancy Gonzales, Ricky Nunez, Sammy Nunez, and Vera Scheidt; sister-in-law, Alice Lujan; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

With many great connections throughout Lola’s long life, who should not go without mention, Lola is also survived by her special friend, who was like a daughter to her, Jan (Hal) Barnett; special grandkids: Candace and Carol; as well as Jim and wife Cyndi, and their children: Warren and Mykah Keck, Sandra Guitar and the Guitar family; and lifelong family friends/neighbors: Mr. and Mrs. Ermilio Montoya, and their family, including Olivia Velos.

She was the matriarch of the Rumaldo and Lola Lujan union, and her family will continue to honor their memory by loving with all our hearts and making them proud.

PALLBEARERS: Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Richard Lujan Jr, Henry Portio, Luis Chavira, Robert Aguilar, Gabriel Solis, and Kevin Jackson.
