Artists wanted for free Grand Arts and Crafts Expo

Dalton’s Flea Market is having its first arts expo on Sept. 6 and 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. on both days. All artist’s booths are free of charge. This is a family-friendly event. All art accepted, if you draw or paint, sew, work with metal or wood. The organizers are also looking for food trucks to join and are in need of performers and a DJ who wants to participate in this free event. The annual Farmers Market takes place at the Chaves County Courthouse lawn, every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Local gardeners, artists and food vendors have their products for sale. For more information, visit farmersmarketsnm.org.

IBEX: Search for edge of solar system

Join scientists who are investigating the boundary between our solar system and the rest of our galaxy. This show follows the creation of NASA’s Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX). You’ll get an in-depth look at the mission and how IBEX is collecting high-speed atoms to create a map of our solar system’s boundary. Author Talk at the library

Local author Curtis Michaels will have an Author Talk at the Roswell Public Library, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Michaels will talk about the anthology, “You’re Never Too Old To: …” in which he contributed a story. Books will be available for purchase and signing. One Paw at a Time adoption event

Roswell Animal Services is hosting One Paw at a Time adoption event. The city has made changes to the Roswell Animal Services and RAS is celebrating with an adoption event, which will be held at Westlake Ace Hardware, 2810 N. Main St., from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 575-624-6722.

WESST’s fourth annual Go! Latinas

The fourth annual Go! Latinas Conference is once again ready to encourage women to follow their dreams. This event is organized by WESST and will be at the Roswell Elks Lodge, 1720 N. Montana Ave., from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The conference is designed to inspire and identify the many resources available to motivate, guide and empower women personally and professionally.
