Changes will not impact RISD elementary students

Late-start Wednesdays for high school and middle school students in the Roswell Independent School District begin today.

Goddard (GHS), Roswell (RHS) and University (UHS) high schools — and Berrendo (BMS), Mesa (MMS), Mountain View (MVM), and Sierra (SMS) middle schools will all be starting at roughly 9:30 a.m. today. Specific times for Wednesday late-start days are listed below.

These changes do not affect RISD elementary students. Elementary schools keep the schedule of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an early release only on Wednesdays at 1:45 p.m.

Sidney Guiterrez Middle School is also unaffected as the school has decided to keep their own schedule, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for school days.

The times for the tardy and end-of-school bells listed below are only for Wednesdays. These times and the other times for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are listed also on the RISD website homepage (risd.k12.nm.us/).
