A father and son from Roswell received non-life-threatening injuries after they were struck by gunfire Tuesday night in the 800 block of West Tilden Street.
The victims — a 41-year-old man and his 20-year-old son — were shot shortly before 10 p.m. as they were standing outside a residence at which shots were fired at by one or more people, according to a press release issued Wednesday morning by the Roswell Police Department.
The father sustained injuries to his face after possibly being hit by one or more bullet fragments and was treated at an area hospital. The younger victim was grazed by one of the shots and received a minor injury to his arm.
Police have not released the names of the victims or any suspects.
Numerous shots were heard by people in the area Tuesday night, including police officers who were several blocks away.
Police units were at the scene with a large area roped off after the shooting had taken place.
