Four years ago, Altrusa partnered with Missouri Avenue Elementary School with the goal of sponsoring different activities which help enhance student programs. One of those activities is the annual uniform exchange.

In coordination with Principal Stacey Damon, Altrusa recently sponsored the “Fourth Annual Uniform Exchange” at Missouri Avenue Elementary School. This program offers families the opportunity to exchange gently used uniform clothing that students have outgrown for the student’s current size. Even if families do not have clothing to exchange, they are welcome to browse through the items on-hand and take what they need. No one has ever been turned away from the program. If families cannot find clothing for their student, Altrusans will take their information, shop for the clothing needed and then deliver the items to the school.

Members of Altrusa shop year-round for the Uniform Exchange Program and the clothes donated to the students ranges from new to gently used. If you are interested in donating uniform clothing to this program, please contact Gail Lucier at 575-420-7519. Or, clothing can be dropped off at Missouri Avenue Elementary School.
