SERVICES: Honoring Jerry’s wishes, services will not be held.

On May 11, 1940, Jerry was born to Estevan and Ramona Analla Urban in Lake Arthur, New Mexico. Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy, in Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, from 15 May 1957 to 14 May 1963, as an Airman (General). During his Military Service, he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He married the love of his life, Elidia “Lillie” Urban on October 27, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico. Prior to retirement, Jerry enjoyed his long career in the Law Enforcement; beginning with Chaves County Sheriff’s Department, twenty-two years with the New Mexico State Police, Commander of the SWAT Team, and Commander of the Governor Security Detail, where he retired at the rank of “Major.” He finished his Law Enforcement career as Chief of Security at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Jerry was a Board Member and volunteer for the Joy Center, Dexter Consolidated School, and a member of the Commission on Aging. He put everyone before himself, always looking for ways to serve others. Jerry’s life was one of sacrifice and service to his sweetheart, family, friends, and community. He enjoyed woodworking and tending to his pecan orchard. Jerry loved watching all sporting events and fishing. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his wife, family, and friends, but by all those blessed to have known Jerry.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Jerry’s are his loving wife and love of his life, Lillie Urban; son, David Urban; daughter, Robin Urban; grandchildren: Brian Urban, and Kevin Urban; sisters: Florence (Eulalio) Flores, Ruth Garcia, Lollie Urban, Gloria (Ralph) Hutchens; brother, Johnnie (Judy) Urban; sister-in-law, Andrea Hernandez; brother-in-law, Pete Hernandez; many, many nieces and nephews; and numerous good friends, especially his New Mexico State Police Brotherhood Association.
