RAYMOND CARRASCO ORONA, 78, was called to his Heavenly home on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Raymond’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: Raymond’s Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community Church on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 10:00 AM.

On June 20, 1941, Raymond was born to Pete and Vicenta Orona in Dexter, New Mexico. He served in the National Guard. Raymond married his soulmate and partner for life, Gloria Montoya Orona in Roswell, New Mexico. As a result of their happy union, they had two wonderful sons: Michael Ray Orona and Henry Ray Orona, whom he loved dearly and were his pride and joy. Raymond was a family man who enjoyed going to various casinos and playing card games of 31 at home or friends houses. His most memorable moments were traveling with his lovely wife, Gloria, and camping and fishing with family and friends.

Raymond always kept busy and had many interests. Some included: motorcross coach, racing motorcross, motorcycle rallies, doing mechanic work for his sons and grandkids, and loved riding his Harley. He was fascinated with his drag racer, a 1956 Chevy car. Raymond loved going to those events accompanied by his wife, Gloria, family, and friends. His favorite thing was watching his granddaughters play softball. Raymond was a Denver Broncos fan. Perhaps more than anything, he will be remembered for his warm personality, great attitude, zest for life, and love of sports and the greatest outdoors.

Throughout his life, he worked as a truck driver, “The Undertaker,” at Glover Meat Packing Co., and Groendyke Trucking in Artesia, NM, for a total of twenty-two years. Raymond retired from Chavez Country Road Department, where he worked for fourteen years. He was a member of the RV Club, Cactus Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Raymond competed in the Senior Olympic in pool, shuffleboard, and free throws. He was a member of Grace Community Church, where he was a door greeter.
