Free dental, medical, vision clinic set for Oct 12-13

Sponsorships, volunteers being sought for event

A New Mexico Mission of Mercy event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at Roswell High School, 500 W. Hobbs St.

The free event is a first-come, first-served dental/medical/vision clinic where all are welcome, according to a press release issued by the organization.

Basic dental services will be provided, along with basic medical care, vision exams and other services, according to the press release.

The New Mexico Dental Association Foundation is hosting the event in partnership with Remote Area Medical, a provider of mobile dental clinics.

The Event Chair is local dentist Dr. Keon Ahghar of Carabelli Dental. Sponsorship is being provided by Delta Dental of New Mexico and Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

Volunteers are being sought for event setup, parking, hospitality, security, registration, data entry, patient escort, translation, tear down and other tasks. Individuals and organizations can register by going to volunteer.ramusa.org or by calling 865-579-1530.

No patient registration is required.

Funding is still needed for the event and various levels of sponsorship are available, according to the press release.
