New Mexico Military Institute cadets make their way over, under and through various obstacles Saturday morning at the school’s obstacle field on North Grand Avenue as part of the 21-Day Ceremony, the first time since the start of the academic year that they have been allowed to communicate with family or friends, other than by letters or postcards. The field has about 10 different stations, and some troops had cadets crawling through the dirt, face down, between stations. “How do you feel?” a troop leader asked. “Fantastic,” they yelled back.
