One man was injured early Monday after he was allegedly shot by another man at the 2900 block of Emerald Drive, according to Roswell police.

Police responded to the incident at 12:50 a.m. in reference to a report of a person who had been shot, according to a police report.

Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the Roswell Police Department, said the 43-year-old male victim was shot once in the foot, perhaps during an altercation with another man outside a residence. The victim was then taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. Wildermuth said at noon Monday that he did not have a name or description of a suspect ready for release, and that the investigation is ongoing.
