ENMU-Roswell will be joining schools across the country in celebrating Constitution Day on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The purpose of Constitution Day is to ensure that students gain an increased knowledge and appreciation for this valuable and important document of freedom.
It was on Sept. 17, 1787 that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the United States Constitution and presented it to the American public.
A variety of activities are scheduled to celebrate Constitution Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Instructional Technology Center, 23 W. Mathis.
Students will receive pocket Constitutions, get information about voting, the Bill of Rights and the 2020 Census. There will also be a photo booth and a Constitution signing table.
Student Services staff and the Criminal Justice Club on campus are organizing the day’s events.
