Former New Mexico Representative Bob Wooley and the Roswell Desk and Derrick Club will be honored this year at the annual Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Foundation banquet.
Wooley will receive the President’s Distinguished Service Award. The Roswell Desk and Derrick Club will be recognized with the Diamond Service Award.
The banquet will occur Oct. 1, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Roswell Country Club, 2601 Urton Road. Reservations will be taken until Sept. 24 and can be made by contacting Foundation Coordinator Craig Collins, email@example.com, 575-624-7304. Collins can provide information about tickets and table sponsorships.
Wooley retired in 2018 as the District 66 representative after eight years of service. A former insurance agent and business owner, Wooley was named to the office in 2011 by then-Gov. Susana Martinez, who had appointed his predecessor as her chief of staff. He then was elected to the seat three times.
The Roswell Desk and Derrick Club seeks to promote education related to the petroleum, energy and allied industries. It has established a scholarship program for ENMU-R students.
