Alpha ‘Christine’ Harrison

Alpha “Christine” Harrison, 91, passed away on September 4, 2019. Born on January 26, 1928, in Colorado City, TX. She was the youngest child of Elmer Bailey and Amanda Sims Howard. Her family moved to the Roswell area in 1932 where she spent the rest of her life until 2 years ago when she moved to Spring/Houston, TX to be near her children and grandkids. Christine worked as a bookkeeper for Smith Machinery and Roswell ISD until her retirement in 1989.

She met the love of her life, Wandal “Lee” Harrison and they married on June 26, 1949. They were married for over 67 until his death in November 2017. He was always “sugar” to her. After retiring they were active in Good Sam’s Club, Rock Hounds and the RAC where she learned many crafts. They also enjoyed having their 5 grandsons come for the summer and took them on trips in their motor home. The kids still talk about all the fun times out at “The Ranch”.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at South Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrison is survived by 2 sons, David (Jan) of Lubbock, TX, and Nathan (Jackie) of Spring, TX. Grandsons Ben (Heather) of Henderson, TX, Jim (Anne) of Holiday, TX, John (Mary) of Pasadena, TX, Luke (Amanda) of Atascocita, TX and Sam (Stephanie) of Prosper, TX. Great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Cole, Travis, Lance, DaniAnn, Ty, Evan, Audrey, Christopher and Eli. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Ruby Hay, niece Karen Hay, great-grandson Wandal and great-granddaughter Charlotte.
