Representatives of the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution visited the Roswell Public Library to set up a display for National Constitution Week. In 1955, Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to set aside the week of Sept. 17-23 annually to be dedicated for the observance of Constitution Week. Celebrating Constitution Week aims to inform people that the Constitution is the basis for America’s foundation and heritage and encourage the study of the historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution in September 1787. The display area at the library features information about the Constitution, as well as take-home literature including bookmarks, the Pledge of Allegiance for the Deaf in American Sign, and a small book with the U.S. Constitution and facts about it. To learn about and celebrate Constitution Week, you can visit this display area in the Periodicals section of the Roswell Public Library. (Submitted Photo)
