This young cowboy is one of the last to hit the already armless piñata that had lots of candy inside. It took nine children of various ages to drop the first of four piñatas at this year’s Piñata and Chile Cheese Festival on Saturday at the Eastern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. It was the first time MainStreet Roswell and the Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce united the festivals to celebrate together the region’s rich culture. (Christina Stock Photo)
