In preparation for a cleanup of South Park Cemetery’s Block 46 — where the gravesites of young children are located — family members who have loved ones buried there are asked to retrieve any gravesite items they would like to keep.

A press release issued by the city of Roswell asks that the items be collected by Monday, Oct. 7.

The cleanup, which is being done with the assistance of Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell’s International Communication Course students doing a community service project, will begin early Tuesday morning, Oct. 8.

All old decorations, glass items and items that are out of compliance with the cemetery’s rules and regulations will be removed. Questions can be directed to the cemetery office at 575-624-6748.
