Clarification: Changes to services available at free clinic

The Daily Record was provided incorrect information in a press release from Remote Area Medical (RAM) regarding clinic services being provided in Roswell Oct. 12-13.

Due to a lack of volunteer providers in the vision section of the clinic, services previously listed that will not be available are: eye exams, glaucoma testing and eyeglass prescriptions. The RAM mobile vision lab will be on site and can custom-make eyeglasses for patients who bring their eyeglass prescription to the clinic with them.

The RAM clinic in Roswell will be held at Roswell High School at 500 W. Hobbs St. The clinic parking lot is scheduled to open at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12. Ticket distribution typically begins at 3 a.m., and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis in numerical order according to their ticket number, when clinic doors open at 6 a.m.

This process will repeat on Sunday, Oct. 13. In some situations, such as inclement weather, volunteer cancellations, or other circumstances outside of RAM’s control, ticketing may occur earlier than 3 a.m., according to a press release from the organization. For more information, visit www.ramusa.org or call 865-579-1530.
