Local Extension Office to hold pesticide applicator workshop

The Chaves County Extension Service of New Mexico State University will hold a pesticide applicator workshop next month.

The workshop for people with pesticide applicator licenses from the New Mexico Department of Agriculture will provide five continuing education units to people who attend the entire program.

It will occur Nov. 6 at the Eastern New Mexico State Fairgrounds in the auditorium of the new office building, 2500 Southeast Main St. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 3:05 p.m., with a lunch break.

The workshop is free of charge and open to the public.

Topics scheduled to be discussed include soil health, entomology updates, pesticide laws and regulations, noxious weeds and trees.
