On Thursday, October 17, 2019, Juanita (Sue) Stockton, 82, passed away at home with her children at her side. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Juanita’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.
Mom was born on November 14, 1936, to Isaac Boyce, Jr. and Valora Nappier in Alamogordo, NM. She grew up in Hagerman, NM, where she graduated from Hagerman High School as valedictorian of the senior class of 1955. On February 4, 1956, Mom married Bobby Lee Stockton, Sr., and together, they had two children. Mom and Daddy were married for 49 ½ years. Daddy passed away in 2005.
Mom worked as a secretary for various businesses before accepting the position as the Athletic Director’s Secretary for RISD. She held that position for 23 years until she retired. After retiring, she and Daddy spent the majority of the next decade traveling in their motorhome with their dogs. They fished a great deal and visited relatives in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico.
Mom is survived by two children, Bobby Stockton, Jr., and his wife Jennifer of Ocala, Florida, and Kathy S. Pape of Roswell, NM. She also leaves behind three grandsons and six great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with all her heart.
Preceding Mom in death are her beloved husband, Bobby Stockton; parents, Isaac and Valora Boyce; and brothers: Gerald, Thomas, and Aaron.
A special thanks to the staff of Kindred Hospice, who supported the family and helped ease Mom’s last weeks.
In honor of mom’s request, no services will be held.
Juanita’s tribute was lovingly written by her family.
