Game workshop, youth pheasant and quail hunt planned

Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge is taking applications for the 2019 Upland Game Workshop and Youth Pheasant and Quail Hunt, scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14.

Youth 17 or younger are encouraged to apply for this limited hunt. Applications may be picked up at local sporting goods outlets, the New Mexico Game and Fish Office, at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge or online at fws.gov/refuge/bitter_lake.

Applications must be received no later than Nov. 20.

The event will focus on educating young enthusiasts on the heritage of upland game hunting, habitat conservation, upland game ecology and hunting ethics.
