We hear again of a possible impeachment of President Trump.
Let us examine some facts.
We find (According to research done online) that in 2016, the last full year of the Obama administration, we had an annual economic growth rate of 1.6%. In the two years since then, we have seen growth rates of 2.4% and 2.9%. Some of our companies have been moving back from China. In 2016, the unemployment rate in December was 4.7%. In the two years since then, the unemployment rates have dropped to 4.1% in 2017 and 3.9% in 2018.
When then-president Bill Clinton was facing a possible impeachment, we were hearing, “The President has done such a wonderful job with the economy, we should turn a blind eye to his scandals. It’s the economy, Stupid!” Considering the job President Trump has done improving on the record of his predecessor, it appears the real complaint of the Democrats is, “It’s our liberal agenda, Stupid.”
Among the pillars of the Democrats’ agenda are: Unrestricted abortion, socialized medicine, special rights for the LGBT community, open borders, the deep state, and the assumption that our government and public schools must be devoted to the premise that God is nonexistent or irrelevant.
The text of the conversation between our president and The president of the Ukraine is available online. President Trump asks President Zelensky to check on a report that former Vice President Joe Biden’s son stopped the prosecution of a case concerning our former ambassador to the Ukraine. This inquiry by President Trump caused an uproar and a demand for impeachment.
Is it wrong for our president to ask a foreign head of state to look into reports of wrongdoing by an American citizen in that country? Obstruction of justice is a serious crime. Should the fact that the suspected perpetrator, Hunter Biden, is the son of a former vice president make a difference?
