RPD investigate Sunday night shooting

Roswell police are investigating a Sunday night shooting in the 2000 block of North Main Street, which has caused some southbound traffic to be diverted.

The shooting occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., Todd Wildermuth, public information officer for the Roswell Police Department, said Sunday evening in an email.

The male victim, discovered in the parking lot of the former Sally Port Hotel, has been transported to an area hospital. No additional information was released about the nature of the victim’s injuries or his condition.

The on-scene investigation conducted by police prompted closure of North Main Street between 22nd and 19th streets, forcing motorists to seek alternate routes.
