SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery.

On July 31, 1953, Adam was born to Patricio and Rose C. Barela in Hagerman, New Mexico. He graduated from Hagerman High School. Throughout Adam’s life, he worked masonry, as a hay hauler, and in maintenance. He enlisted in the United States Army in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, on 13 Dec 1976, and he was honorably discharged 5 Aug 1979. Adam was honored with an M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter badge. He was a devoted member of Assumption Catholic Church. Adam’s most memorable moments were the family times he shared with his loved ones and gardening. Adam was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Adam’s life are his daughter, Bernadette, Granados and husband Louis Granados; granddaughters: Gabriela Rose Villarreal and husband Luis Villarreal, Aaliyah Elizabeth Granados; grandson, Adam Louis Granados; great-grandson, Danilo Fernando Villarreal; siblings: Ida and husband Carl Davis, Emma and Esequiel Marquez, Olivia and Larry Vasquez, David and Viola Barela, Daniel and Norma Barela, Lloyd and Dianna Barela, Patricio Barela Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

PRECEDED: Preceding Adam in death are his son, Adam Barela, Jr.; and parents, Patricio and Rose C. Barela.
