STELLA L. TUBBS, 94, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Please take a moment and share a kind thought or memory with Stella’s family at www.andersonbethany.com.

SERVICES: There will be a Viewing for Stella at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, November 1, 2019, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

On October 7, 1925, Stella was born to Jeff and Laura Tubbs in Payson, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school and later received her associate in nursing. Stella was very involved with the start up of the Roswell Medical Osteopathic Clinic and Hospital, where she became OB nurse. She was a member of Mt.Gilead Missionary Baptist Church. Stella had a love for the NBA Golden State Warriors. She loved to cook, spend time with children and listen to the police scanner. Stella will be greatly missed, and the memories she shared with her family and friends will forever remain in their hearts.

SURVIVORS: Those left to cherish memories of Stella are hers sons: Jerry (Sun) Johnson, Michael (Adrianne) Johnson all of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Almetra Strange of Roswell, NM; “special daughter”, Patricia Jefferson of Farmers Branch, TX; four sisters: Eva Gentry, Edna Turner, Betty Fisher, and Doretha Tubbs all of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren: Lisha (Augustine) Aragon of Albuquerque, NM, Priscilla (Luis) Carbo Hernandez of Madrid, Spain, David Deans of Colorado Springs, CO, Dre Deans of Colorado Springs, CO; Michael (Claudia) Johnson Jr. of Lovington, NM, Terry Horton of Albuquerque, NM, Manny Horton of Albuquerque, NM, Coco Harris of Roswell, NM, Lisa (Joshua) McLean of Houston, TX, Sherri Johnson of Denver, CO; eighteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and special ex-daughters-in-law: Maria Diez of Madrid, Spain, and Aleace Myrick of Roswell, NM.

PRECEDED: Stella is preceded in death by her son, Richard Johnson, parents, Laura and Jeff Tubbs; brothers: Floyd, Jeff, Maurice, Don, Buford Tubbs; sisters: Leora and Marva; son-in-laws: Tony Strange, Tommy Williams; and grandson, Carlos Julian Johnson.
