George A. Tallman, age 82 passed away peacefully in his home in Roswell, NM in the early hours of Saturday, November 2, 2019.

George was born on February 8, 1937 in Malone NY. He met Kathy Randolph while working as a mechanic in Virginia in 1974. George and Kathy were married in Virginia on April 22, 1975 and moved to Roswell, NM in June of 1975. George began a career with Roswell Independent School District in 1975. He served as Head locksmith and maintenance for 39 years until his retirement in 2014. During his years with the school district, George became a beloved member of the community known for his “Holly-Jolly” look. In 1984 George began playing Santa at the Roswell Mall where he spread the joy of Christmas to hundreds of children each year. George also donated his time as Santa to the Roswell Humane Society to help drive adoptions. George loved to travel and over the years he and Kathy were able to travel to all 50 states and Canadian Territories.

George is survived by his wife of 44 years Kathy; daughter, Lynda Butts; granddaughters, Krystynya Butts and Samantha Bruner; great-grandson, Zackary Clark; son-in-law, Frank Butts; and grandsons-in-law, James Bruner and Michael Mascone. George was preceded in death by many beloved family and friends including parents, Alex and Mary Tallman; son, David Wayne Tallman; and grandson, David William Tallman.

Funeral services for George will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, located at 900 S. Main, Roswell, NM. George will be laid to rest near his son at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, located at 2605 E. 19th St., immediately following.

Pallbearers will be Larry Randolph, David Wunker, Frank Butts, Andy Louton, Dustin Delay and John Dean. Honorary Pallbearers will be Zackary Clark, Kelly Burge, James Brunner and Michael Mascone.
