On Tuesday, 62 fifth-grade gifted students from the Roswell Independent School District conducted STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities with an egg drop from 10 feet, 20 feet and 30 feet from a bucket on an Xcel Energy truck. The objective was to keep the egg from cracking by creating an apparatus with balloons, newspaper and other materials. Students had the opportunity to revise for each drop and at the end of the activity, they presented the results to their peers. (Alison Penn Photos)
