Gateway’s Kaylee Stephens (17) scores one of several points on the night off a set by Dora’s Hannah Martin (3) during a game earlier this season at Gateway Christian High School. On Thursday night, the No. 3 seed Gateway lost the District 4-1A tournament championship to No. 1 Floyd in three sets: 17-25, 10-25 and 20-25. Gateway (12-11, 5-5 4-1A) defeated Lake Arthur and Tatum earlier this week in the district tournament. For the scores of those games, please see page B2 of today’s edition. Gateway will await a potential selection this weekend to the Class A state volleyball tournament. (Shawn Naranjo File Photo)
